Mentoring and Life Coaching
Support
Character development is a key component of the Pearls for Girls, Inc.
mentoring program. Mentors (through a collaborative with the National
Coalition 100 Black Women/ DeKalb County Chapter) provide career
exploration, life skills discussion groups, educational activities, academic support, and multicultural immersion experiences. The program is jointly overseen by the PFG Program Manager and the Coalition's Program Facilitator. who serves as a liaison and works alongside each mentor and guides them in completing program activities and components. Through the mentor program, residents have the opportunity to first act as mentee learning invaluable life skills, and then as peer mentors through positive youth development service learning projects in the community.

PFG teens are required to enroll in an academic/educational programs as part of their Individual Service Plans. Each girl must enroll in either
middle/high school, GED classes, or college/technical training programs. We pride ourselves on ensuring that each resident receives quality and comprehensive educational services that increase the resident's potential for future success and earnnings. Our goal is to enrich our resident's lives so that they will become future leaders able to serve their community and achieve their personal and professional goals. Our educational and occupational enhancement services provide personal attention, a sense of belonging, and an environment of proactive learning by focusing on lifespan learning and learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
